Sophie’s Cleaning Tips – Ornaments and Statues Cleaning Tips
It would be better to wash all ornaments, porcelain, glass or plastic statues in one go instead of cleaning them one by one:
Cover the sink with thick towel.
Fill the sink up with warm water and add a few drops of liquid detergent.
Soak all of them while you clean other part of the room.
After those ornaments soaked with water, slowly scrub with your finger or small brush, such as make up brush to remove the dirts.
Rinse until clean.
Then leave them until dry.
How to Restore Wood Statue Shine
Crush several candlenuts.
Put them in an old socks.
Scrub the socks on your wood statues.
Scrub it with clean cloth afterwards.
Painting and Frames Cleaning Tip
Paintings and Frames
Use your paint brush to clean your paintings. Cloth will leave fibers which could damage the paints.
Soft toothbrush is a great tool to clean complex frame’s carving. Do not use water or detergent since it could damage the painting and its frame.
Restore the faded frame with turpentine (handle with care). Alternatively, mix egg-white with a teaspoon of baking soda. Then apply the mixture to the frames with sponge. Slowly, wipe it with clean cloth.
Broken mirror frame could still be used as painting or picture frame. Adjust the painting or picture with the frame size. As the mirror replacement, you could use thick and clear plastic.
