Morpeth, Northumberland Domestic Case Study
At the weekend we were contacted by a law firm in Morpeth who wanted us to clean their office space. They told us that they had thrown an office party on Friday night and wanted the office thoroughly cleaned before everyone returned to work on Monday morning. When we arrived at the office, we discovered why our customer had decided to have it professionally cleaned.
The company owned the entire floor of a large building and all of the available space was covered in balloons, plastic cups, food remains and empty alcohol bottles and cans. Beyond the party debris, there was also the usual dust and dirt that we find in office spaces and all the computer monitors were definitely in need of a good clean.
We began by removing all of the party debris from the night before though, bagging up bottles and cans that could be recycled and popping all of the balloons. After we had removed all of the loose rubbish and cleared all of the surfaces, we gave them all a wipe down and then got to work on cleaning all of the computer screens and keyboards as our customer had asked us to do. There were over 100 computers in the office, so this was an extensive job, but we have experience of cleaning specialist equipment and the right tools to do it with, so it didn’t take us too long.
Once this was done, we set to work on the staff kitchen, which was quite dirty and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. We scoured the sink, disinfected the surfaces and wiped the cabinets, before vacuuming and mopping the floor. We then moved on to the floors throughout the office, which were covered in food crumbs and remains from the night before. With this done, we moved onto the bathrooms and the stairwells.
We dusted and wiped all of the bannisters, vacuumed and mopped the stairs and disinfected the toilets and sinks in the male and female bathrooms and washed and buffed the floors. With the bathrooms and other communal areas now all taken care of, all that was left for us to do was to remove sticky fingerprints and other dirty marks from all of the door and doorframes, and wipe down the other communal office equipment, such as the printers, scanners and phones.
Once this was done, our job was complete and it was now impossible to tell that there had been a party there the night before, which we knew would satisfy our customer.
