Hartlepool Domestic Home Clean Case Study
We were contacted by a landlord who owned a pub in Hartlepool. He told us that the pub had been closed for the past week for refurbishment and now that the builders had left, he wanted us to come in and give the place a thorough clean so that it would be ready for its opening night.
He also told us that the large windows that fronted the pub needed to be thoroughly cleaned inside as they were covered in grubby marks left behind by the builders, as well as paint spatters that needed to be removed. He also informed us that the whole place was covered in a lot of brick and paint dust and dirty marks, and that the mahogany bar needed to be waxed and polished and all of the many mirrors had to be cleaned as well. We agreed to do all of this, and arrived at 9am the next morning, keen to get started straight away.
Our customer was there to let us into the pub and gave us a guided tour so that we could get an idea of the work that needed to be done. He did not require us to clean any of the rooms to the back of the pub, but he did want us to clean the male and female toilets, which had also been refurbished. We decided to start with the toilets and then move onto the windows and the mirrors, which covered large sections of the exterior and interior walls.
The bathrooms were covered in layers of brick and building dust, so we had to vacuum both of them several times before we had removed it all. We then dusted, wiped and polished all of the toilets, sinks and mirrors, before giving both bathrooms a final vacuum to remove any dust that we had disturbed.
Once we were finished with the bathrooms, we moved onto the pub and began to wash and polish all of the large windows and mirrors, carefully removing any paint flecks that we came across. Once we had finished washing and cleaning all of the windows and mirrors we vacuumed the whole place several times, in order to make sure that we got rid of all of the paint and brick dust. Once we were satisfied that we had, we moved onto waxing and polishing the mahogany bar, while other members of our team polished all of the brass fixtures and fittings that were around the bar.
We also wiped down and polished all of the tables and chairs and the glass lampshades that hung above them. We then gave the whole pub another vacuuming to remove any last traces of dust that remained. We then took a final look around the building to check that we hadn’t forgotten anything, and returned the keys to our customer, who told us that he was very happy with our work.
