Chester le street Domestic Home Clean Case Study
At the beginning of the week we were contacted by a man who owned a small restaurant in Chester le street. He asked us to give both the front and the back of his restaurant a thorough clean as he was going to be inspected the following week and he wanted to make sure everything was up to scratch. We arrived at the restaurant, on a busy street in Chester le street at 10am, keen to get started as soon as possible.
The restaurant was quite a small one, with just ten tables, a bar and an open kitchen that was visible to all the diners. There were also several storage rooms at the back of the building that we had also been asked to clean, as well as a small office. We decided to get started by cleaning the male and female bathrooms though, as well as the staff toilet that was to the rear of the building. All of these bathrooms were in a reasonable condition, but were all in need of a deep clean in order to bring them up to scratch for the inspection.
We thoroughly scrubbed and disinfected all of the toilets and vacuumed and mopped all of the floors, before scrubbing the sinks, taps and the rest of the fixtures and fittings. Once we were finished in the bathrooms, we cleaned the communal staff areas at the back of the restaurant, including the office and the storerooms. These were really very clean, so after a once over, we were able to move onto the main kitchen and the front of the restaurant.
These rooms required a lot more work, as the kitchen was very crowded with appliances and surfaces that needed to be scrubbed and scoured. The floor was also covered in many old layers of grease and grime, so it was clearly going to require a lot of mopping before it was returned to a good state of cleanliness. We began by cleaning the ovens though, which were also very greasy and required extensive scrubbing.
We also scrubbed the sinks, the oven hoods and all of the surfaces. All in all, the kitchen took us just over two hours to clean, and by the time we had finished all of the surfaces were shining and the floor was a lot less sticky!
All that was left for us to tackle now was the restaurant itself, which mostly consisted of tables and chairs that needed to be wiped down, a wooden floor which needed to be vacuumed, mopped and then re-waxed. This took us a further hour and a half to do, but once we were finished we were very satisfied with what we had managed to achieve, as was our customer.
